Master Crafter and Craft Designer
Johanna was born in Kwantebele, Mpumulanga and started crafting when she was only 10 years of age. During her difficult child hood, she developed a skill to bring colour and meaning into peoples lives.
When she grew older she taught people how to do bead work in prison’s so that they can develop their artistic skills and that they can feel uplifted of the way they are living. This was done in Bavian, Witbank and Newlog Pretoria’s prison’s. The Department of labour saw the talent in Johanna, took her in as a employee so that she can make a difference for the people that are HIV positive, that she can bring happiness to their lives. To give them a will to live again, and to be proud that they where born in South Africa. She was sent to Kgatelopele Training Academy where she received a Beading Hand Skills Certificate.
In 2010, Johanna was part of the New Vision’s Magazine. Pictures of her work was brought forward in volume 24.
Ziphi Amanzi has found a leader to bring our Social Development programme to life. Making the beading cap’s of our product, and by helping us to enhance the lives of our fellow South Africans. Today we are proud to say that Johanna Masemula is part of the Ziphi Amanzi team.
